Backpacker-style accommodation with all rooms housed in one big house on the beach. There is a beach bar and a very relaxed atmosphere. Tall trees provide shade as well as a place to tie hammocks. There is a volleyball net, a lone sea kayak and some lounge chairs on the sand. Located at the edge of the beach with soft sand on the one side and a rocky ledge on the other. Dorm rooms share bathrooms outside the rooms while the other budget rooms have attached bathrooms.
Rooms and dorm rooms are splashed with vivid colors and accents. The owner, Captain Shariff, is a friendly and warm guy, treating his guests like family.
Alike other resorts around the area, Captain's Longhouse provides facilities such as snorkeling, kayaking, and tent rental. On request, fishing and scuba diving tours can be arranged. A jungle trekking guide to the blue lagoon and a round island tour are also available.
How to get to Lighthouse Beach Resort
By Car: Travel south from Perth on the Kwinana Freeway towards Mandurah, and continue on the Old Coast Road to Bunbury. On reaching the first roundabout in Bunbury, turn on to Koombana Drive (going past the Dolphin Discovery Centre). Koombana Drive becomes Clifton Street (cinemas on the left).Turn right on Victoria St, then left on Carey St, up to the hotel. Guests can find us by looking for the big Lighthouse itself situated on top of the hill. You head straight towards it and you cannot go wrong. Located atop Marslton Hill, The Lighthouse Beach Resort can be accessed from either Carey Street or Ocean Drive.

Captain's Longhouse, or The Lighthouse, offers 7 rooms and a dorm room at its beachfront location. Each room is equipped with fan, and a mosquito-netted bed fit for 3 persons. The dorm room is airy and clean, with mosquito-netted mattresses to accommodate 20 persons.
